last night she says to me, is your name queen mcginty?

yes it is, i said emphatically, and that must make you a princess.

she agreed.

moving the earth

she asks me this morning why the clouds are blue and not pink.

i told her the sun had not begun to come up yet so they are still dark.

(p.s. - i have no CLUE why.)

so she tells me that she prefers pink clouds.

i think we all do.

the next thing she said surprised me - mommy, make the clouds pink. fix it.

fix it. make the clouds pink. my child thinks i can change the colors of the sky.

unbelievable. to her, i must be amazing.

i guess i have a lot to live up to.

but for now, i'll leave changing the clouds to someone else.

i'll just try my best at being her mama.

must be a sick day in our house

she loves to paint seashells.

and she's good at it, i think.

then she "bought me flowers like daddy" and i smiled.

her heart is so pure.

it makes my sinuses hurt but i smell anyway.

i love that she is creative and imaginative.

i hope she never loses that.

priorities

this is why everything else doesn't matter.
