dinner

i love when the weather gets warm but not horribly hot and we eat dinner outside.

the breeze blows and we tell each other about our day (or rather i listen while they talk).

i love food and i really love healthy food that does good things for your body.

and i don't know for certain, but i think that bug does not like having his picture taken.

he (seems like a masculine bug) is rather photogenic though.

this is my mid afternoon snack.

organic plain greek yogurt, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, organic raw honey and organic raw sunflower seeds. and half a banana that meghan didn't finish.

mundane, you say?

don't care.

when i grow up, i want to take pictures of food for a living.

and if i ever grow up, maybe someday i will.

because i love food. and i love pictures.

and i find food beautiful.

that's weird, you say?

don't care.

i may post pictures every day of food that i eat.

because i can.

because i want to.

that's why.

never a dull moment

let me paint a picture:

8pm, thursday night.

me, sick as a dog - can barely talk.

sean, out of town for the last three days.

meghan, being good and listening, thank god.

storm and daisy, fighting over water.

yep. WATER.

because there's a shortage of it, you know.

i only refill their bowl 1,243,845 times a day.

so a battle was fought...

...and storm lost.

not that she knows the difference.

she was bleeding all over my house, just as happy as could be.

so i call donna who is on her way and we try to put on liquid bandage.

major FAIL. now the dog has a mohawk down her neck because i keep missing.

crap. it's still bleeding an hour later.

so off to the doggie emergency room we go.

thank god Nana stays with meghan.

but not before daisy slips out of the door because she wants to go too.

so i drive around the neighborhood in the dark with a bleeding dog in my car, looking for the other trouble maker.

find her. stupid dog.

get her home, get bleeding dog to the vet.

a bunch of stitches and $260 later...voila.

battle scars.

she looks like she's smuggling a baseball in her mouth today.

and i called in sick because i'm sicker than yesterday...hmm. wonder why.

i need a vacation.

life begins

and so it grows...

today, meghan and i decided we needed some girl time.

daddy had homework to do and so we decided to escape...to the zoo.

it is such a beautiful day outside and she was being so good for me.

she is so grown up and serious sometimes, reminds me of me when she gets like that.

unlike last night, when she spun around the room so hard she got dizzy and almost knocked herself out on the corner of the wall. that must be sean's side.

but i digress.

the zoo was a blast. it's spring and everything is blooming, including the animals. babies abound everywhere we looked.

i wish everyday were like this. we have so much fun together.

we planted flowers.

purple flowers.

i have no idea if they will grow because i don't know anything about growing stuff.

but i do know we had a fun time picking out the seeds and pots and of course, gloves and shovels and dirt.

then we planted them.

she said that when she wakes up in the morning they will be big and strong, like her.

yes, big and strong she is.

but not the flowers.

she woke up this morning and looked. no flowers.

we watered them again.

i really hope they grow...or momma will be planting flowers that did grow at nighttime....
